Teapot Trust began working with the Royal Hospital for Children in Glasgow in 2012. We currently run two weekly open groups on Tuesdays and Fridays for the Rheumatology clinic, as well as providing 1:1 sessions for children and young people referred to us by Rheumatology clinicians and nurses. Over the past 8 years, 5697 art therapy interactions have been provided by our wonderful art therapists at this hospital, supporting around 2,000 children.

As the conditions these children have are long term and often need monthly, if not weekly hospital appointments, we have many ‘regular’ artists who have grown up with Teapot Trust in Glasgow. P’s mum tells us about the positive impact the art table has provided for her daughter:

“P loves the fun activities provided by you all. You have helped her so much on her journey with Juvenile Dermatomyositis. She gained confidence because she has something to look forward to and something positive from her visit. P has lots of artwork she has kept over the past four years. Thank you from the bottom of our hearts”

Service user, Olivia (aged 7) has also been attending hospital regularly since she was very young, and has been visiting our art therapy group for over four years. To hear more about her story, click here.
