Our service at the hospital began in February 2020. We provide open-group and ward-based services on the rheumatology ward and at the Bridges Hospital School. We have two lovely art therapists who provide the service and cover, Megan and Erin. You can learn more about their work through Megan's blog, here

In the initial sessions before lockdown, children were asked ‘How did you feel about your appointment before coming to the hospital?’ The responses showed that they felt worry, fear and anxiety. When the same children were asked how they felt after doing art with Teapot Trust, they felt much better about their hospital experience, even happy! This helps demonstrate the impact of the art therapy group in our short time at the hospital.

Whilst we've been unable to provide group or ward-based art therapy in person during lockdown, Megan has been creating videos on behalf of Teapot Trust with fun, soothing creative activities to keep children and their families calm and entertained during a challenging time.
