"In February I started running with a Couch to 5k app in a bid to get a little fitter. A couple of weeks later I completed my first Parkrun and it was safe to say I was hooked on running. TeapotFundraiser

To spur me on in my fitness journey and possibly while on a little bit of a 'runner's high' I signed up to an event at my local running festival - the Bournemouth Half Marathon. I've not really exercised properly since school and I've not slept a full night since 2014 (thanks to my lovely children!) so getting myself around the beautiful coastal course will definitely be a challenge, but as anyone who knows me well will say, I'm pretty stubborn and if I say I'm going to do something, I'll do it!

I've decided to raise money for the Teapot Trust as I wanted to support a lesser known cause and one that I really believe in. As a mum of two little ones and working in the creative field as a designer and illustrator I recognise the power of art for improving mental health, enabling expression and as a useful tool for communication when there simply are no words. I know from playing with my own children that a 'bad day' can be turned around by getting the paints and pencils out, and it's not just the kids who benefit, our whole family do too.

The work the Teapot Trust do is incredibly inspiring and the fact that I might be able to help in some small way will certainly push me on with my fundraising and training.I'm making it my mission to raise as much as I can for this wonderful charity, to run my socks off and I can't wait to cross the finish line having made myself and my family proud!"

Kelly did an amazing job, and raised over £571 for the charity! You can learn more about her journey on her Instagram page.
