An enormous thank you to Abbey and Dirleton Churches who raised £1,570 for Teapot Trust and significant awareness for the charity too.

This was achieved through their exhibition of Cherished Clothes that have been treasured, repaired or re-purposed to highlight the importance of “slow” fashion. Each exhibit told a story, bringing the garment to life and offering insight into decades of social history.

In addition to the three exhibition areas, there was a spinning demonstration using local fleeces and a small sale of work created using eco-friendly and natural materials that were available to purchase throughout the duration of the exhibition.

Over 700 visitors, mostly from East Lothian, but also UK, Europe and worldwide, left wonderful comments about the impact of the exhibit. A successful formula for the eco-message and fundraising, this event will now be repeated elsewhere in aid of Teapot Trust.
