The Teapot Trust Elsewhere Garden would not have been possible without the initiative of garden designers Semple Begg. Comprised of two incredible individuals, Nicola Semple and Susan Begg, the team is extremely skilled at telling a story through planting.

With over 30 combined years of experience, Nicola Semple and Susan Begg started the company in 2014, with a Swiss practice opening in 2018. Nicola and Susan are trained and qualified in a broad range of disciplines – garden and landscape design, horticulture, architecture and design history – and all projects benefit from their combined input and commitment to collaborative, reflective practice.

They’ve said of their work: “Each project is a response, both artistic and pragmatic, to our clients' wishes, personal style, the space itself and the wider natural landscape. Our aim is to have a light, deft touch and we are guided by the desire to create soulful gardens with a unique sense of place, atmosphere and character.”

The team has worked on a wide range of projects in the UK, Switzerland and USA, from small and large domestic, to public and commercial. Recent projects include: the RHS Community Garden in Paisley, a Mill regeneration project in North Yorkshire and multiple private gardens.

A massive thank you to Semple Begg for their time, services, and collaborative spirit, helping Teapot Trust raise awareness in such an incredible way that will continue to make an impact in young lives for years to come.
