Taking on a virtual challenge is a great way to make your fundraising accessible to more people. All you need is a little creativity and the help of technology. We’ve outlined below just a few challenge ideas you may choose to take on or you can get creative and come up with your own. They are not all physical challenges, so there is something for everyone.

Your generosity will help Teapot Trust continue to be a pioneering force in creative health for the benefit of thousands of children and young people living with both chronic conditions and adverse mental health. Thank You!

  • Go the Distance – Get creative and see how much you can accomplish from your back garden. You may not be able to run that marathon you’ve been working towards completing, but you can still show off your determination, endurance, or speed from the comfort of your garden. Run, walk, bike or skip miles in your garden and equate it to a famous path, distance, or route to make it even more impressive.
  • Climb a Mountain – Always wanted to climb Ben Nevis or Scafell Pike? You may be able to climb the same elevation from your own stairwell! Think about some of those tall obstacles you want to tackle and calculate the number of steps you need to climb at home to reach the same height for a fun challenge. Why not try Munro Bagging for some added fun!
  • Smash a Goal – Challenge yourself to break a personal record by setting a goal and getting sponsored to outdo it. How many cartwheels, rope skips, football juggles, push-ups, or lunges can you complete in a row? How far above your daily step count can you go?
  • Beat a Record – Show off your endurance and determination by breaking a streak record! Can you complete a different creative activity 30 days in a row? Can you doodle for 2 hours straight? How long can you hold a plank for? Ever hear of creative isolation? You can take it to the extreme by pledging a vow of silence for 24 hours straight and see what creative ideas come to you.
  • Persuasion Challenge - Start a competition to recruit 20 people to donate a fiver for the charity. Make it a wider competition to add recruiters and the person who gets to 20 the fastest wins a prize. £100 could make a big difference to the charity, and all you have to do is ask!
  • Artsy ChallengesHow long can you do a continuous line drawing that doesn’t cross another line’s path? Can you colour in different designs for an entire month? How many items can you fit on a journey stick

Have a challenge in mind? Raise money by asking for sponsorship, seeking a certain number of donations before you take on a daring challenge, or charge your friends a 'fee' if you manage to reach a goal. If you are still looking for inspiration, you can check out some of the ways others have been fundraising during lockdown here. If you do decide to take on a challenge, remember to look through some of our fundraising tips and set up your very own Teapot Trust fundraiser page.
