What will happen after I have filled in the referral form?

Art therapy referral process

    1. The referral form will be sent to a secure email address. The Art Therapy Project Manager and an art therapist will review your form to ensure it meets our criteria and then get in touch

    2. If they feel the child will benefit from art therapy, the art therapist will set up a video call using Zoom to speak to the family in more detail to get a better understanding of the child's needs and any issues and concerns you have.

    3. We provide art therapy in blocks of 8-12 sessions, meeting for one hour per week. The sessions will be one-to-one unless the assessment session highlights it might be helpful to take part as a family.

    Important information

All our art therapists are fully qualified, background checked, and registered with the Health Care Professions Council and the British Association of Art Therapists.

    Safety, Security and Confidentiality

The information provided about the child in the referral form and through any art therapy sessions will be treated confidentially and stored securely in line with data protection legislation.

We will provide a welcome pack with information about safe boundaries during art therapy and our child protection policy. Your art therapist will share information about how we will keep your child safe and can answer any question during your introductory meeting.
