Teapot Trust’s piloted our first service off mainland UK for six months in September 2018, providing one-to-one art therapy support for children and young people, referred through Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services (CAMHS).

The CAMHS team found that art therapy enabled some young people, who may have struggled with other therapies, to engage with the work and benefit hugely:

"Art therapy helps me to deal with my fears" Young person.

"I find it hard to think about what to say in sessions, so art therapy feels easier" Young Person.

"…having the opportunity to refer young people who have struggled to engage in talking therapy has made a significant difference to those young people and their coping…Art Therapy has enabled us to offer support to terminally ill young people who would not previously have had access to our service (as their mental health needs haven’t met our criteria). This is invaluable to these young people and their families." CAMHS Staff.

This service is now being provided through our sister charity, Teapot Trust Isle of Man, in partnership with Teapot Trust. For more information, please contact: [email protected]
