Caitlin & Lewis' Mighty Stride Donate Outcome Update Thank you to all who donated to our Kiltwalk this year! With your help, we raised an amazing £1,547 to provide art therapy support for children in need. Although we probably won't be taking on another walk like that in one go anytime soon, we enjoyed seeing our local community from a different perspective, and even got to enjoy some sunshine along the route. We've included some 'proof' of our adventure below. Thanks again for helping children in need of additional support in these difficult times. - Caitlin & Lewis A Message from Caitlin Throughout my role working with the charity's stakeholders, I've met some amazing and inspiring families who face challenging circumstances every day with a brave face. The efforts of supporters are equally inspiring, and the Children in Crisis Campaign has seen many of them take action to ensure children are continuing to be supported in these difficult times. Inspired by the work of the charity, its supporters, and its beneficiaries, we've decided to take action as I know firsthand just how big of a difference every pound can make in these children's lives. The Plan Children with chronic conditions face mental health challenges that have been particularly pronounced during recent months, so we've decided to help how we can by raising funds and awareness through a Virtual Kiltwalk in our community. Despite the unusualness of this year's remote event, we've decided to take the opportunity to maximise our fundraising with an added 50% top up from the Kiltwalk. We've pledged to tackle a 26.2 mile (42.195 km) walking marathon, or Mighty Stride, on the weekend we'd normally be completing the Edinburgh Kiltwalk. We'll be trekking the distance in East Lothian and have planned a route that will include part of the scenic John Muir Way as well as a varied landscape of hills, sea views, beaches, and fields. Weather dependent, we are hoping to stroll on the 12th or 13th September and will document the route as we go, exploring the environment around us from a new perspective.
