I began volunteering with Teapot Trust 6 years ago, and have worked with Teapot for five years, which means I have seen first hand the hundreds of families who have been impacted by art therapy, and the transformational change it can have on their lives.
Having experience with chronic health conditions myself, I want to do all that I can to support young people in their journeys with long term illness. As an adult, who has been on that rollercoaster of emotions such as fear, sadness and anxiety, I can only imagine how challenging it must be to go through that as a young child who may not yet have the words to express how they are feeling, or may not feel like they have anyone to turn to for help.
This is where our lovely art therapists come in, with one parent recently saying "Our daughter was introduced to a therapist but she has gained a valued friend!!"

I am aiming to raise at least £200, as this is the amount it costs for a month of group sessions to support young people with long term conditions, and I want to ensure Teapot Trust can continue to support these young people through the pandemic and after, on into the future.

Whilst 5K may not seem like much, as a total novice runner (who at school would hide in the art room to avoid PE!!), this will be a big challenge for me. All donations, big or small, will be much appreciated. Thank you for your support.

UPDATE
The 5k run was completed on Saturday 7th November 2020 - thank you so much for your support and donations!
