Calling all young artists and budding garden designers:

What would be in your Elsewhere Garden?

To celebrate the young people at the heart of the Teapot Trust Elsewhere Garden design, we are launching the #MyElsewhereGarden art competition now until the 14th of May. 

Inspired by the fantastical worlds of Oz, Wonderland, and Willy Wonka's factory, The Teapot Trust Elsewhere Garden will be a colourful world of dramatic shape and form. From vibrant plants and sculptures, to soundscapes and interactive elements, there will be so much to engage the imagination and senses. The garden will be on display at the Chelsea Flower Show before moving to its final home in the Royal Hospital for Children, Glasgow

The Competition 

The garden reflects the artistic tools Teapot Trust uses in its art therapy sessions to guide a child’s worrying thoughts ‘elsewhere’.

We're challenging young people to ask themselves, "What would be in my Elsewhere Garden?".

Is it filled with plants, people, animals? What things would you find there? What colours would you see? What would you do there? How can you use your imagination to create a fantastical place that helps your mind go elsewhere?

The Rules

The rules are simple: Use your imagination to create a piece of art that represents what your Elsewhere Garden would be like. Artwork can be made using whatever art materials you see fit - whether it be on paper or in a digital creation, use whatever inspiration, materials, and medium you'd like.

Participants must live within the UK and be 18 years old or younger to be eligible for entry. The competition will run from the 11th of April to the 14th of May.

The Prizes

The #MyElsewhereGarden competition winner will receive a luxury art set prize with over 100 pieces, have their winning design announced by CBeebies legend Kirsten O'Brien at this year's Chelsea Flower Show, and win a VIP pass to the Elsewhere Garden's Glasgow opening where their design will be the cover image for a #MyElsewhereGarden exhibition. 

Second and third place winners will also receive a smaller art kit so they can keep creating. 

How to Enter

Simply upload your creation below, tag us on social (Instagram, Twitter, or Facebook) or send in a high quality photo of your illustration to [email protected] to win. 

Be sure to use the Elsewhere garden frame, include #MyElsewhereGarden, and send along a couple of lines about your creation. If you have any questions, please let us know.
