A massive thank you to Flawless Productions UK for their fantastic Discover Urban Art project which has raised over £450 for us! This money will enable us to provide 9 hours of open group art therapy at Edinburgh Sick Kids Hospital.
The amazing Dickins Edinburgh have just announced they have raised £3,630 for us!! Every penny will be put to providing art therapy to chronically ill children in Scotland. Thank you so much.
We are so lucky to be supported by such talented people! These giant tea cups have been designed for us by Blackhall St Columba’s Art Club!
The club is holding an art exhibition and sale from the 6th – 10th of May at Blackhall St Columba’s Church Hall so make sure you pop along if you are in Edinburgh! You will be able to see these cups on display as well as much more!
We are thrilled that Family Business United have chosen the Teapot Trust as their charity to support this year.
As Paul Andrews, Founder and Managing Director of Family Business United explains, “We have been looking for a charity to support and through various routes came to find The Teapot Trust. We have just launched Scottish Family Business Week 2015 and as a small charity that started out in Scotland it seemed like the obvious choice. Family values are at the core of what FBU is all about so a charity that seeks to help children and their families find comfort during a dificult period in their lives really fits with who we are.”
Various events are planned such as The Scottish Family Business Cycling Challenge and The Family Business Tea Party and FBU will be announcing more about these events and others that the family business community can support in due course.
What a fantastic weekend at The Edinburgh Yarn Festival, were we raised £1757.12! Thank you everyone who supported us by entering our raffle, buying merchandise, attending Carol Meldrum’s classes and popping by our stall for a chat! A special thank you to Jo and Mica for inviting us and for making us feel so welcome, you guys are awesome! And last but not least a HUGE thank you to our volunteers, we wouldn’t have made it through the weekend without you. We hope you all enjoyed yourselves as much as we did! Now time for a cup of tea and to unpack all these boxes!
We are delighted that Gilson Gray have chosen the Teapot Trust to be its Charity of the Year. Together, we can continue to make a real difference to the lives of over 3000 children and their families across Scotland and in London.
We know that Gilson Gray’s staff will be undertaking a range of imaginative fundraising activities as well as providing us with some much appreciated business skills and advice, and we thank them for all the hard work they will no doubt put into the coming year’s partnership.
We were really excited to celebrate our official opening at Raigmore Hospital, Inverness, on the 3rd of February 2015 with ambassador John Byrne and the Lord Lieutenant of Inverness-shire.
“The teapot trust is a great addition to our multidisciplinary paediatric rheumatology team. The use of art therapy has the potential to greatly support our children and their families as they come to terms with their diagnosis and ongoing treatment.” – Dr Freeman
“I was very impressed by the professionalism and sensitivity of the art therapist working for the Teapot Trust in Raigmore Hospital.” – Donald Cameron, Lord Lieutenant of Inverness-shire
Thanks to the staff at Raigmore Hosptial, our art therapist Nicola, the families at the clinic, John Byrne, the Lord Lieutenant, the Highland news and STV who helped to make the day a great success.
