Thank you everyone at the Edinburgh Yarn Festival who raised a fantastic £928.51 for us at the Big Yarn De-Stash last weekend! We had a great time seeing you all again and hope you all enjoyed having a cup of tea with us!
A big thank you to Roseburn Primary School and Murrayfield Parish Church who have raised an amazing £4584.78 for our art therapy projects in Edinburgh! They raised this money through their art exhibition in November which showcased art work by the pupils at Roseburn Primary and local artists. Thank you everyone who came along and supported this great event!
We are delighted to be chosen as one of three charities to be supported, this year, by Cargilfield Preparatory School! We enjoyed meeting the children this morning and telling them all about art therapy.
We are delighted to have the support of Chef Albert Roux and The Roxburghe Hotel & Golf Course who have so far raised over £1000 for us. Until March 2016, £1 from every afternoon tea sold will be put towards providing art therapy at Borders General Hospital. What better reason is there to break your New Years resolution and enjoy a piece of cake…or 2!
We are over the moon for our Founder, Laura, who has received an MBE in the Queen’s New Year Honours.
Laura Young said, “Being given an MBE is a great honour and it is wonderful to have recognised the work that we’ve been doing over the last five years. Of course, the award is testament to the contribution of our therapists, support team, volunteers and very kind donors that make our work possible.”
Thank you to John Byrne, Lyon & Turnbull and the buyer who raised an amazing £20,000 for us with the sale of this unique piece of work.
The buyer, who wishes to remain anonymous, said “I have long been a fan of John Byrne and I admire his generosity of spirit in donating the painting to this wonderful charity. This will take pride of place next to another of his paintings in my collection. I read a great deal about the charity when I saw it for sale in the Lyon & Turnbull catalogue, and it makes it all the more special knowing that the money will go to such a worthy cause.”
We were over the moon to win 2 awards last week at the Charity Champion Awards in Glasgow!
“We are thrilled that the Teapot Trust has been recognised at the Charity Champion Awards with the Children’s Charity of the Year and the Charity of the Year (under £250k). It is wonderful that we are recognised not just for what we do, but the way we do it.
Our 18 projects in Scotland span from Inverness to the Borders, providing art therapy to chronically-ill children in medical settings, and these awards recognise the amazing effort over the past 5 years of the Teapot Team, our supporters, funders and volunteers; these awards are for you – for making it all happen.” – Laura Young
